After a nice weekend with good friends I was eager to fire up the Kamado Joe (Bessie).
We picked up some Strip Steaks at Wegman’s, along with some asparagus. First, I grilled the steaks at 400-450 using the grill grates. Using the following times
2:30 (1/4 turn) 2:00 (flip) 2:00 (1/4 turn) 2:00 and they came out medium after letting rest for 5 minutes.
For the asparagus: they were coated in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder and black pepper and grilled using the vegetable tray that I picked up at bed bath and beyond. Grilled for about 5 minutes, turning often to avoid too much charring.
Overall the meal with solid, steaks were tasty (had leftovers for a steak sandwich the next day) and asparagus were cooked perfectly.
